these women asked me to take their pictures,
they were the only women in the slum that allowed
any of us to take their picture. |
so...blogging? something i told myself i would never do because i have absolutely
nothing to blog about. then again, who actually has anything to blog about? but, i'm going to give it a shot anyway. this blog is intended to document my travels and adventures abroad in the fall semester but i figured i would try it out until then, see if i'm any good. if i am...i'll keep blogging. if i'm not good...i'll
still keep blogging. i guess the first order of business is deciding what type of blog this should be?? well, besides providing people with a detailed account of my escapades all over the UK and western europe--maybe a fashion blog? not so much fashion advice as what i'd want my wardrobe to look like if i had a never ending sum of money...maybe a food blog? or possibly just a blog of whatever i feel like blogging about? that idea suits me best, i think. so here goes--i'll start with a few pictures from trip to China and India. the experience was eye-opening and i wouldn't have changed a bit of it except maybe the extreme heat we dealt with in India. the pictures above are only from India--they were all taken in a slum behind the Taj Mahal in Agra. the pictures speak for themselves and sum up the experiences we had in India. however, i cannot say that India was a trip full of lollipops and rainbows--we went through extreme heat, blatantly sweaty, staring men and a trip back to the US (from hell) but i can honestly look back on my time in China (different from India and basically a party and sightseeing) and India and see it as a once in a lifetime excursion that i'll never forget. so, how's that for my first day of blogging?
Perfect for your first day of blogging! Can't wait for more :) xoxo
